Fuchs-style 15″ wheels are mounted with 195/65 Michelin Energy MXV4 Plus tires. A spare wheel is mounted in the front trunk. A front sway bar and Koni shocks are installed, and stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes.
The cabin features a bucket seat for the driver and a fixed passenger seat, both of which are upholstered in black vinyl with perforated inserts. Salt-and-pepper carpets line the floors and are complemented by a color-coordinated dashboard and door panels. The car is equipped with a passenger-side footrest, hand-crank windows, and shoulder belts for both occupants. The seller notes that the push-button Blaupunkt radio is not connected, the speakers have been removed, and the cabin heater does not work. Replacement hot-air hoses are included in the sale. The Karmann data plate and VIN sticker have been removed from the driver-side door jamb, and a replacement Karmann data plate is included in the sale.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a central tachometer, a 150-mph speedometer, and a combination oil pressure and temperature gauge. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 78k miles, approximately 2k of which were added under current ownership.
The air-cooled flat-six is said to have been rebuilt under previous ownership to displace 2.5 liters and features dual Weber carburetors. Compression test results are provided in the gallery.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle. Additional underbody photos are provided in the gallery.
