The car left the factory finished in Ash Gold (G) and was repainted in white with black nose stripes during prior ownership. Features include a black soft top, concealed headlights, faux hood vents, a rear spoiler, and chrome bumpers and side mirrors. Weatherstripping for the doors, soft top, and trunk is said to have been replaced under current ownership. The seller notes that the soft top window is clouded, and damage on the top is shown up close in the gallery along with paint chips and blemishes around the car.
Rally-style 15” steel wheels wear chrome center caps and beauty rings and are mounted with 235/60 BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel drum brakes. The seller notes play in the steering wheel.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in black vinyl with color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Additional appointments include woodgrain trim on the center console, a push-button AM radio, and a lockable glove compartment. The console storage lid is cracked, and the air conditioning and heater are inoperative.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5,500-rpm redline and an inoperative inset clock. Auxiliary gauges are located in the center console. The five-digit odometer shows 88k miles, approximately 5k of which have been added under current ownership. The seller notes that the speedometer reads slower than actual speed.
The 396ci V8 features a Rochester Quadrajet four-barrel carburetor as well as a chrome-finished air cleaner and valve covers.
Stampings on the engine block are shown above. The suffix MY on the right is consistent with a 1968 Camaro equipped with a 396ci V8, a four-barrel carburetor, and an automatic transmission.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission and a Positraction rear axle. Additional underside photos are provided in the gallery.
