The bodywork is finished in metallic burgundy and a repaint was reportedly carried out in 2004 following metal repair and replacement of the front fenders. The left fender and quarter panel were repaired and repainted in 2007. The tan soft top and windshield are replacement items, and equipment includes a body-color Pagoda hardtop, European-market headlights, a power retractable antenna, and dual exhaust outlets. The door handles are worn, scuff marks are present on the hardtop trim and taillight bezels, and there is a scratch in the rear hardtop glass.
Steel 14″ wheels wear color-keyed hubcaps and are mounted with 195/75 Michelin Harmony tires. Bilstein shocks are fitted, and braking is handled by front discs and rear drums.
The seats, door panels, and trim have been reupholstered in cream vinyl, and red carpets are installed. Additional equipment includes a Toshiba air conditioning system, lap seat belts, floor mats, a Nardi steering wheel, a Sony CD player, and Infinity speakers.
The 140-mph speedometer was reportedly installed during current ownership, while the vertically arranged auxiliary gauges are metric. The five-digit odometer shows 22k miles, and total mileage is unknown.
The replacement 2.8-liter was reportedly sourced from a 280SE and is fitted with a 250SL cylinder head. The Bosch mechanical fuel injection pump was reportedly rebuilt by Pacific Fuel Injection, and a rebuilt power steering box was installed in December 2018.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a replacement four-speed automatic transmission that was rebuilt before being installed in January 2018. The trunk floor panels are said to have been replaced.
The left-front core support is cracked, and additional photos of the underside are provided in the image gallery.
