The body left the factory finished in Rangoon Red and was repainted during the refurbishment according to the seller. Equipment includes side mirrors and finned rocker trim along with a GT-style grille bar with fog lamps and dual exhaust tips exiting through the rear valance. The white power-operated convertible top has a crack above the rear window, which is shown in the gallery below.
Magnum 500 wheels were installed by the seller and are mounted with 14″ BFGoodrich Silvertown dual-redline tires. The car is equipped with power-assisted steering and four-wheel disc brakes.
The interior features bucket seats retrimmed in white vinyl with a red dash pad, carpeting, and seat belts. Equipment includes a carpeted dash cover, faux wood veneers on the dashboard and full-length center console, and a Bluetooth-equipped Custom Autosound radio fitted in place of the factory unit.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a five-dial instrument bezel housing a 140-mph speedometer and gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, amperage, and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 83k miles. True mileage is unknown.
The 289ci V8 was installed by the seller in place of the removed F-code 260ci engine and features a polished air cleaner, an Edelbrock intake manifold, Ford Racing-branded valve covers, and headers mated to a dual exhaust system. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Tremec five-speed manual transmission equipped with a hydraulically operated clutch and mated to a 3.70:1 limited-slip differential.
Additional photos showing the suspension, chassis, driveline, and exhaust components are presented in the gallery below.
The vehicle warranty number reveals that the car is a 1965 Mustang convertible built at the Dearborn, Michigan, plant that was originally powered by a 260ci V8 with a two-barrel carburetor. The data plate further decodes as follows:
