The 16″ phone dial wheels were refinished and are mounted with Pirelli Cinturato P7 tires. The car is equipped with power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering and vented disc brakes at each corner. Refurbishment work has included overhauling the power steering pump, rebuilding the suspension, and replacing bearings and bushings.
The seats have black leather bolsters and matching pinstriped cloth inserts, and the cabin features a matching dashboard and door panels. Interior amenities include air conditioning, cruise control, a Porsche-branded AM/FM/cassette stereo, and power windows. The cruise control computer was rebuilt.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a 170-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, voltage, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 36k miles.
The 4.5-liter V8 features K-Jetronic fuel injection and was factory rated at 219 horsepower and 245 lb-ft of torque. The engine was overhauled during the refurbishment, and the fuel and electrical systems were refreshed. Work between March and May 2019 included overhauling the radiator and replacing the firewall insulation, rear main seal, fuel accumulator, motor mounts, and spark plugs. The gallery below includes photographs of compression-test readings.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a rear-mounted five-speed manual transaxle that was rebuilt in March 2019, when the axles were disassembled and cleaned. The clutch was replaced in June of that year.
The sale includes manufacturer’s literature, a timing belt replacement card, brochures, a tool kit, a jack, and service records.
The Porsche Classic Technical Certificate lists engine and transaxle numbers, and photographs of engine and transaxle stampings are shown in the gallery below.
