The car was delivered new in Silver Metallic (Z2), and the body was stripped and sanded before being refinished using Glasurit paint during the refurbishment. The weatherstripping was replaced at this time, and the rear bumper cover is a replacement. Features include pop-up headlights with an early-production adjustable headlamp-aiming system, headlamp washers, fog lights, body-color mirror caps, a rear window wiper, and a twin-tip exhaust outlet that exits on the driver’s side.

The 16″ phone-dial wheels were re-balanced and refinished in silver during the refurbishment, and they are mounted with 225/50 Pirelli P7 tires showing 2020 date codes. The seller notes that rear wheel spacers have been added, and the car is equipped with power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering, adjustable rear coilover dampers, and slotted front brake discs. The suspension and brakes were refurbished with rebuilt and refinished calipers, a rebuilt brake booster, rebuilt and refinished control arms, and replacement bushings, wheel bearings, dust shields, and hardware.
The front bucket seats and individual rear seats have been reupholstered in black with black and white Pasha inserts. The door panel inserts have been trimmed to match, and amenities include air conditioning, cruise control, power windows, and an AM/FM/cassette stereo linked to refurbished Blaupunkt speakers.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a 170-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, voltage, and fuel level. An analog clock is housed in the center stack. The six-digit odometer shows 56k miles, approximately 200 of which have been added under current ownership. The gauges were repaired during the refurbishment.
The 4.5-liter V8 features K-Jetronic fuel injection and was factory rated at 219 horsepower and 245 lb-ft of torque. During the restoration, the timing belt and water pump were replaced along with the fuel injectors, fuel distributor, and various gaskets. The high-pressure lines were cleaned, the alternator was rebuilt, and hardware was cleaned and replaced at this time. The engine bay was refinished while the drivetrain was removed, and photos of the disassembled engine are provided below.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a rear-mounted five-speed manual transaxle with a limited-slip differential. The transaxle was rebuilt during the refurbishment, and the previously installed aftermarket exhaust system has been replaced with factory components that were ceramic-coated.
The Porsche Production Specifications certificate lists the production date, factory colors, powertrain numbers, and options, which consists of California equipment as well as a right-side exterior mirror. The report indicates that the engine and transmission are “matching numbers” units. Manufacturer’s literature, service records, a toolset, and air compressor, snow chains, and a Porsche Club of America Full Concours award will accompany the car.
